ArticleI'm not all too sure google is really getting more capacity. I think google just wants you to wait for around 5 weeks thinking of the magical google analytics, to make it feel more exclusive when you get the invitation code.
It's all part of the getting googled experience. People dont really send these invitations. Google does, and you'll have to wait. When it first came out, people had to wait about 5 weeks, now, people have to weight about 5 weeks. Collecting and parsing small statistics is nothing compared to crawling and analyzing relationships between pages. I think they have the capacity. Plenty. They're friggin google!
No, it's not like gmail or orkut where people can mail you invitations. Speaking of those, there's actually ORKUT invitations Pools where people request and get invitations from other members. GMAIL also has one too at Gmail invite pool. Also you could just use your cell phone or a friends cell phone.
