PersonalI just watched the Da Vinci Code on the discovery channel and they listed all the "historical" facts the author claims to be fiction.
The Grail was first named in the middle ages in a king author story. It was typical of the magical relics and objects to be sought in quests of the archaic literature. It was a fabrication from the beginning and nothing more. The authors claimed that the information had been passed on for further promotion of the book. The original author died before revealing exactly what the holy grail was, so 5 main variations from different authors leached off the original concept soon after his death.
They were a group of 3-5 people builing up evidence to make the connection some guy was related to a king of france. It was fake and the hoax makers spoke out.
She was actually not originally a prostitute from a history perspective. Some pope ordered that to be true. Early scrolls reveal that she was one of the closer of jesus' apostles, and that the da vinci painting very well may have her as jesus' right had apprentice.
Forgot the excuse for knights of templare and that cathedral but they also brought in experts to debunk. Just writing this to remember, I guess.
